Through establishing the Graduates Unit, Gaza University aims to align the outcomes of higher education with the requirements of the job market for its graduates, and to maintain the relationship between the university and its graduates by building channels of communication and cooperation with community institutions to serve both the graduates and the university.
Vision:
To maintain positive and continuous engagement with local community institutions in order to achieve integration between university programs and the requirements of the job market.
Mission:
To establish channels of communication between the university and its graduates through monitoring and providing developmental services to enhance their competencies, life skills, and guide them towards the job market.
Objectives of the Graduates Unit:
- Building a database for graduates, including their majors, grades, contact information, and addresses.
- Ensuring communication with various institutions to provide services for the employment of new graduates.
- Identifying the employment rates of graduates in fields relevant to their majors.
- Developing the skills of graduates through training programs that suit the job market.
- Recognizing the innovations and success stories of graduates.
- Establishing communication channels with the graduates' units in local universities to support the exchange of experiences.
- Designating an annual day (Graduates' Day) for celebration.
Roles and Responsibilities of the Graduates Unit:
- Issuing and attesting certificates.
- Building a comprehensive database for graduates.
- Promoting success stories and innovations of graduates.
- Celebrating and honoring graduates who have assumed high positions.
- Coordinating with local institutions for the development and enhancement of graduates' skills.
- Training graduates on the best and easiest ways to write resumes, prepare for interviews, fill out job application forms, write reports, etc.
Departments of the Graduates Unit:
- Graduates Relations Department, including the Public Relations Division.
- Job Qualification Department, including vocational training courses and career counseling.
- Development and Follow-up Department.
- Graduate: Any student who has completed the required courses according to the curriculum.
- Expected Graduate: Any student who has registered for all the remaining courses in the curriculum and is awaiting their results.
- Graduation Semester: The last semester in which a decision to graduate the student was issued by the University Council.
- Courses Outside the Curriculum: Any course successfully completed by the student but not included in their study plan.
- Course Equivalency: Exemption of the student from studying a course included in their study plan due to successful completion of a similar course.
- Clearance: The process of settling financial and administrative requirements with the Student Affairs and the college the student is enrolled in.
- Graduation Documents include the graduation certificate and the transcript in both Arabic and English.
