FE was established at the University of Gaza in 2010 after being approved by the competent authorities. The faculty aims to prepare creative and qualified teachers to teach students in the first grades and kindergarten classes in public and private schools and kindergartens inside and outside Palestine. In addition to its role in developing effective strategies for communication and participation with the local community to meet its needs, and service and solve its problems by providing expertise and specialized advice in various applied educational aspects. This is done through  meetings, seminars, and training workshops, and conducting targeted educational field studies. The faculty strives to achieve accreditation and quality standards, increase awareness and improve the quality of education for its students to become center of academic and educational excellence at the local and regional levels.

Preparing teachers who are qualified and creative in performing their tasks, believe in their mission, able to compete in the labor market, and equipped with educational and technological knowledge to become a generation capable of adapting and taking responsibility for sustainability and development.

FE aspires to achieve standards of comprehensive quality and excellence and to occupy a prominent position among university education institutions by providing an effective environment for teaching, learning, scientific research, and community service.

The objectives of the Faculty of Education were formulated in accordance with the university's objectives, vision, and mission, which emanated from the strategic document for the preparation and qualification of teachers in Palestine, and assist them to pace with. The objectives are summarized as follows:

• Improving the process of preparing and qualifying teachers through high-quality educational programs in various disciplines.
• Keeping abreast of educational and technological developments, and employing them in various fields of preparing and qualifying teachers.
• Preparing teachers who have a general culture, and the necessary knowledge in their field of specialization.
• Preparing teachers capable of serving the community psychologically, socially, and educationally.
• Preparing teachers who learn from their experiences and develop themselves through their self-evaluation and through their interaction with others.
• Preparing teachers who possess scientific research skills and are able to carry out educational and procedural research and employ them in educational issues and problems facing education and the educational system.
• Developing the capabilities of the faculty members and the academic and administrative staff of  FE and providing them with the technical and technological skills necessary to perform their roles effectively.
• Strengthening the concept of community participation, and enhancing cooperation between FE and civil society institutions, with the aim of helping graduates find suitable job opportunities.
• Preparing graduates who are able to complete their postgraduate studies in their field of specialization or in any field related to the educational process.

Based on activating the role of the faculty in community service and scientific research, the college seeks to develop many activities and programs that serve the community and scientific research to contribute effectively to achieving the goals of Gaza University. Among these activities are the following:

1. Providing scientific and academic consultations in the faculties various fields of specialization.

2. Holding training courses in cooperation with the Department of Continuing Education and in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education aimed at developing local cadres.

3. Participate in lectures, scientific seminars, and various cultural activities that the college will organize periodically to inform the local community of the latest developments and special achievements in the fields of specialization of the faculty and the best ways to deal with them.

4. Participate in the university's activities related to student and community service and provide all the technical capabilities necessary for these activities.

5. Employing scientific research activities to address community issues and problems.

6. Cooperating with local, regional, and international research centers in the field of joint research.

7. Organizing scientific conferences through which relevant scientific research results are highlighted.

Faculty graduates can work in:

- All public schools (at their different stages).

- All UNRWA schools (at different stages).

- All private schools (at their different stages).

- Kindergarten.

- Local and regional institutions related to children, youth, and education.
