Gaza University Grants Student Hanan Al-Rifi a Master's Degree in Public Relations and Media
The Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Gaza University awarded Hanan Al-Rifi a master's degree in public relations and media, after a public discussion of his thesis entitled "The Role of Sports Media in Promoting Popular Diplomacy towards the Palestinian Issue from the Point of View of the Sports Media Elite", which took place at the university's headquarters. The study found that the degree of education in the sports media elite came by 60.13% of the bachelor's degree holders, and indicates the level of good education of the sports media elite, and the study showed that 21.20% of the study sample are aged 50 years and over, while 15.51% of the study sample came from the age of 35 years. This percentage is low, compared to the ages of the media elite of the youth category, and the study showed that most sports fans prefer to follow football, by 71.84% of the study sample, compared to the rest of the existing sports.
The study recommended the need to focus more on social media, and work on its spread, and not to highlight the Palestinian sports media on the game of football, as there are other games worthy of attention such as individual games, and recommended that the Palestinian sports media focus on the sports human stories of Palestinian athletes
The study also recommended working on preparing a comprehensive national strategy that brings together all Palestinians, to activate and develop popular diplomacy in the sports field to support the Palestinian cause as a tool of public diplomacy.
